#069: You Will Either Bow by Faith or Bow by Force 🧎
Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. The only variable is when, and whether it will do you any good.
Welcome, Family
Last week: you’re not a Christian because of where you were born. We established the one biblical qualifier.
This week: The Sovereign Ultimatum. Because once you understand who Jesus actually is (His position, His personhood, His purpose, His power, His preeminence) there is only one question left.
What are you going to do with Him?
Not eventually. Now. Because the guarantee is already in place and the only variable is which side of it you’re on when it matters.
⏳ THE SIGN
The Politeness Problem
The modern church has a politeness problem.
In an effort to be welcoming, relevant, and non-threatening, an entire generation has been presented with a Jesus who is mostly an option. A lifestyle upgrade. A source of community and meaning. Someone you might want to consider if you’re into that kind of thing.
Nobody mentions the guarantee.
Philippians 2:10-11 is not polite. It does not offer Jesus as one option among many. It declares that every knee in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will bow at His name. Every tongue will confess that He is Lord. Not some tongues. Not willing tongues. Every tongue.
The people who built empires and denied Him. The people who mocked the church and dismissed the gospel. The people who died convinced He wasn’t real. Every single one.
The Diagnosis: A generation has been given a Jesus small enough to ignore and polite enough to decline. Scripture presents a Jesus before whom every created being will ultimately kneel. These are not the same Jesus. And the one you’ve been introduced to determines how you respond to the guarantee.
📖 THE WORD
Philippians 2 & The Name Above Every Name
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)
“I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”
Isaiah 45:23 (KJV)
“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
Proverbs 11:4 (KJV)
This is not a conditional promise. God swore by Himself, the highest oath possible because there is nothing greater to swear by, that every knee will bow. The word has gone out of His mouth. It will not return void.
The Five Dimensions of Who He Is:
Before the ultimatum lands, you need to understand who is issuing it. Philippians 2 describes five dimensions of Christ that establish why the guarantee is inevitable.
Position: Jesus existed in the form of God before creation. Not as a lesser being, not as an angel, not as a created thing. As God. Coequal, coeternal, the I AM before anything else was. His position was never earned. It was never threatened. It simply was.
Personhood: Despite that position, He made Himself of no reputation and took on the form of a servant. The King who had every right to demand worship chose instead to wash feet. His identity was so perfectly secure that He needed no one to recognize Him to validate who He was. That is the most unshakeable personhood in existence.
Purpose: He came with one assignment: to die on the cross with sinners, for sinners, as sin itself. Not as a victim. As the sovereign Lord of life and death who laid His life down voluntarily and picked it back up the same way. His purpose was not interrupted by the cross. It was completed by it.
Power: “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” He set a resurrection alarm before He went into the grave. He walked out exactly on schedule. No other figure in history has made that claim and delivered on it.
Preeminence: Because He descended to the absolute lowest point, death on a cross, God exalted Him to the absolute highest. A name above every name. Far above all principalities, powers, might, dominion, and every name that is named. Not just in this age. In the age to come.
That is who issues the guarantee. Which is why the guarantee is unbreakable.
🌍 THE WITNESS
Faith or Force. Those Are the Options.
Here is the ultimatum as plainly as it can be stated:
You will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This is settled. The oath is sworn. The word has gone out.
The only variable, the only thing still in motion, is whether your confession happens by faith or by force.
By Faith means now. Voluntarily. While salvation is available, while the gift can be received, while the confession produces the righteousness that delivers from death. This is the confession that changes your eternity.
By Force means at the end. Every knee that refused to bow in life will bow at the judgment. Every tongue that denied Him will confess Him. But that confession will produce nothing except the confirmation of a choice that was already made. It will be true. It will be too late.
Myron Golden said it plainly: “You may resist in life, but you won’t resist in death. You might as well confess when it will do the best for you.”
The Deception of Earthly Success:
This is the part nobody wants to hear. You can build the business, accumulate the wealth, achieve the fame, and win by every metric the world offers. And none of it will matter in the day of wrath.
Proverbs 11:4 is surgical: riches profit not in the day of wrath. Not because wealth is evil. Because wealth is temporal and the judgment is eternal. What you accumulate on earth has no currency in that moment.
There is nothing wrong with being wealthy or well-known. But there is something catastrophically wrong with being wealthy, well-known, and unknown to Jesus. As Golden said: “I’d rather nobody know my name and Jesus know my name, than everybody know my name and Jesus not know my name.”
The Name That Means Salvation:
In Hebrew, Jesus’ name is Yeshua. It means salvation. Literally. Not symbolically. The name itself is the declaration.
When the Israelites stood trapped at the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army behind them, Moses told them: stand still and see the salvation, the Yeshua, of the Lord. And when they saw it, God didn’t tell them to stand still anymore. He told them to go forward.
That is what receiving Jesus does. It doesn’t keep you standing still in the lie identity of your past, the programming someone else set for you, the fear that has kept you in place. It moves you forward. Out of slavery. Into the identity of a son or daughter of the King.
The guarantee is already in place. The question is which side of it you’re on, and whether you’re moving forward or still standing still.
🔥 THE WORK
The Ultimatum Audit
1. The Confession Check Have you confessed by faith, personally, specifically, staked-your-eternity-on-it, that Jesus Christ is Lord? Not culturally. Not by association. By genuine, heart-level trust in His finished work. If not, today is the day.
2. The Temporal Trap What are you currently building that you are treating as eternal? Career, wealth, reputation, platform. Name it. Now ask: what does this produce in the day of wrath? Adjust your investment accordingly.
3. The Identity Audit Are you still living in the lie identity, the programming set by broken sources before you were old enough to fight back? Or are you operating from your true identity as someone accepted in the Beloved, known by name to the King of Kings?
4. The Forward Command Where in your life are you still standing still when God has already said go forward? The Yeshua of the Lord has shown up. The Red Sea has opened. What are you waiting for?
🙏 PRAYER CORNER
Every Wednesday at 8:00 PM EST, we gather to confess by faith, together.
Let’s Pray:
“Father, we acknowledge the guarantee.
Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. We choose to do it now, by faith, while it counts. Not by force, when it doesn’t.
We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Not as a cultural label. Not as a family tradition. As the personal, staked-our-eternity-on-it conviction of our hearts.
We receive the Yeshua, the salvation, of the Lord. And we choose to go forward.
Out of the lie identity. Out of the programming we didn’t choose. Into the identity of sons and daughters who are accepted in the Beloved and known by name to the King.
Every knee. Every tongue. Starting with ours.
Amen.”

✝️ Final Word
The guarantee is already in place. The oath is sworn. The word has gone out and will not return void.
Every knee. Every tongue. No exceptions. No exemptions. No amount of wealth, fame, achievement, or denial changes what is already written.
The only question still open is yours. Will your confession be by faith, now, while it produces righteousness that delivers from death, or by force, when the only thing it produces is confirmation of a choice you already made?
You might as well confess when it will do the best for you.
Every knee will bow. Make sure yours goes down first.
